No interior shots is always concerning.
My main reason for posting it is the rear picture. Did the bumpers stick this far off the back end, or did they maybe add spacers or a different bumper so it could be a platform to stand on? I’m curious because the front bumper is much better molded to fit the van.

You could block an entire sidewalk with all that back.

There has likely been sex in that van, and I can’t confirm all the participants were alive. Absolute murder van.

No interior pics because they have yet to empty out all the bodies

I like how you can literally see the line where that rear section is welded on.
Looks like it’s been sitting a while with the flat. Maybe it doesn’t run? Seems about the right price for a vehicle that isn’t running.
I’d love to get one of these and throw it on a 3500 truck frame with a Cummins engine

The things that interior has seen...

10/10 a derelict church van, and I can’t imagine the amount of drugs and sex that have taken place in that van, like CB said.

Holy crap, that’s a lot of rear overhang. The problem with it is that it was a passenger van so there are too many windows. There’s no way to get a sweet mural on the side.

Yeah, the body join line is really crude on the extended length Dodge. We had one at the school and it was cringe-worthy.

Isn’t it already on a truck frame basically? I think the only requirement for that is a sawzall and a cummins because interior room can be sacrificed for more engine room.
Those last gen Dodge Ram Vans really had a striking rear end. I like the curved glass and the single door strangely appeals to me.

I mean it’s probably a church van (pound per pound the most dangerous vehicles on the road), though I guess that doesn’t rule out your hypothesis either.

I don’t understand why people ask for Jesus to take the wheel, not like he was around when cars were invented.

Possibly. Maybe the suspension is just different? They always seem to sit way lower than their truck counterparts though.

Having overseen one for the school? Yeah the glass is cool. That huge door, suspended on a flex-y frame back there with “Highland park” build standards made it not close very cleanly, smoothly or even reliably.
It seems to have been designed to 1950s manufacturing standards. In fact, given it was in production for decades? Likely was

I remember the 80’s Ford extended vans being similar. They had a very crude looking line where the rear section was just slapped on.
I was thinking a Helephant crate motor would be quite entertaining. A 15-passenger drift van could be interesting.

I like the rear glass, but I feel like barn doors would be more user friendly than the one big door. I can see the big single door being rough on the hinges too.

The best were the 80's Econolines. They actually left the body character line for the end of the regular length vans.

Is it possible to find a 19yo van you would actually want to see the interior with a black light? Any van this old or older I’d suggest steam cleaning as soon as you get home and burn the clothes you drove home in.
I would think a windowless van would be preferable for dead body moving or creating though.

I’d recommend a biohazard suit to wear to wherever you have the interior steam cleaned and blasted with ozone.

Church van means the preacher’s daughter may have had access to this van. If the one of those I’ve known was a representative sample of that population I can promise “things” have happened in every row of seats and behind them too.

Paint on the body panels and etched glass to complete the mural?

My first thought was that I don’t even think it would fit between my driveway and my neighbor’s.

Those seats have seen more action than I wanna know about.

There’s probably been more riding going I’m on in that van while in park than while driving.

I always thought they were basically trucks with beefed up frames and suspension.

I don’t doubt it. There is a reason there aren’t many around anymore. The single rear door always confused me.
Between the body extension line, the weird proportions, and the crude rear door it was a callback to a different era in all the wrong ways.

Probably could easily bend them to not close right. And that door is NOT light at all.

Oddly the drivetrain was pretty reliable... but the vehicle was shyte.

Yeah, how they ever expected to hold tolerance is a mystery...

It’s pretty easy to make a big old fashioned pushrod V8 with low compression not fall apart or take the trans with it. It’s the body that fell apart as you said.

Factory bumper for Dodge 3500 van

Looks like they used enough material to make bumpers for at least two vehicles there.
